In a way, Ratio started in the punk rock scene back in the late 90s, as they were touring, playing out, creating magazines, and working at labels. Eventually that energy transformed into brewing. They learned how to brew in Germany and took what they learned there to Colorado.

#2: Stem Ciders
We're not sure if cider counts, but we love this place. Stem produces cider on 3 main principles: quality, style, and tradition. They produced their first batch of cider in 2011 and opened their doors in Denver in 2014. They now have locations both in Denver and Lafayette.
This is one of our favorite local spots! Our Mutual Friend opened in December of 2012 with the goal of creating a place for community through their small neighborhood taproom. They create beers with a sense of place, forging relationships with Colorado hop and barley growers and leading us into offering as many 100% Colorado grown beers as possible.

- The hippest beer glasses in town

The name says it all. Grandma's House celebrates all things craft. Their quaint taproom has a relaxed, comfortable, and nostalgic atmosphere that is designed to make everyone feel welcome.
Black Shirt Brewing Co. was founded in 1999 and opened to the public in 2012. They believe that “good things take time,” and since their opening, they've collected many awards and accolades for the quality of their beer, ambiance, and customer service. Black Shirt also participates in agricultural sustainability by donating their spent grains to local farms. They also have great pizza!
